Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Relias Learning Management System to complete trainings that are mandated for employees based on the individuals title position, contract, and department. We also use Relias Learning Management System for basic trainings on our HR and payroll systems. This product helps us enroll all the employees to the same training very easily, and it identifies the number of employees with pending and completed trainings.

Pros

Ease of setup and add custom training for our company.
Generic user interface and navigating tools.
Effectively and efficiently deliver, track, and report training initiatives.

Cons

The UI needs to be modernized and more user-friendly for non-technical individuals.
Courses need to be updated with more engaging content. Extremely painful to read the course materials for hour long.
The platform can be upgraded to increase speed and navigation.

Relias Learning Management System is like a lower end and budget LMS product for small to mid size business. It's lacking modernized courses for Today's end users and course navigation is very slow regardless of computer and Internet speed.

It's an all-around LMS product with customized trainings and gets the job done for the basic needs.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We currently use Relias Learning Management System to streamline how we are able to push out mandatory trainings to employees who are spread out across the WNY area, as well as a mixture of remote & on-site employees. We also use Relias Learning Management System to for policy sign offs, supervisor trainings that we create and upload in the Relias Learning Management System, etc. The platform is very versatile--having a lot of pre-built trainings in the system but allowing you to create and upload your own as well.

Relias Learning Management System has a massive catalog of pre-built trainings available for employees to take at their leisure
Relias Learning Management System has many compliance & hr related trainings based in the system already based on laws and regulations
Relias Learning Management System makes it easy to record & build your own trainings to add into their system for specific employees in your company to take as you require

Cons

Sometimes getting our HRIS system & Relias Learning Management System to work together can be clunky. We sometimes have to manually add new users versus having them feed over properly from our HRIS platform
Relias Learning Management System requires an attestation at the end of every training that seems very formal "under penalty of law, I've taken this training". Seems a bit over the top for basic training courses
Relias Learning Management System defaults to sending excessive email reminders--there are ways to curb this but we've heard from staff that the emails are too frequent

Relias Learning Management System is a massive training platform that gives companies great options for getting crucial development & trainings opportunities out to their staff. Specifically, we've used the platform to build new supervisor training courses that better prepare our leaders for what they will face in the department. We've also used the platform to build benefits & leave process reminders and walk-throughs.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Relias offers an impressive amount of on-line trainings geared towards healthcare and behavioral health compliance. The product is easy to administer and keep track of the courses that are required for staff to take and also the courses that they have completed. Back when we originally purchased the product the service was impeccable however in recent years that has drastically changed.

Pros

Variety of trainings offered.
Updates courses on a regular basis.
Offers compliance trainings.

Cons

Ability to reach someone when something is not working in the system.
Customer service in general has really taken a hit.
Eliminated critical courses from our library without any dialog regarding the impact.
Cost has doubled.

Was a fan of Relias for several years but when a problem came up this past year their service was very lacking. They showed no interest in coming up with a solution to the situation. Over the course of the past few years Relias changed the courses that we had access to which caused us a problem with finding appropriate trainings for some compliance areas. The courses were still offered in Relias but we just no longer had access to the courses. I worked with a representative for over a year and there was nothing resolved. It was basically, we are sorry but things change, and we can't do anything for you. In the meantime, the overall cost jumped significantly. I will no longer recommend Relias to colleagues.

Relias Learning Management System is used across the state of Arizona for our Behavioral Health network of Providers. The system makes transferability of course completions across agencies in the network invaluable.

Cons

Reporting - Course Completion History - Would be nice if the course output gave you a cumulative score of course completions (like the quick view does before you export the report)
Dashboard (only shows current quarter data & is not visually pleasing for individuals with colorblindness)
Need to be able to tag agencies under our enterprise as associated with differing Health Plans for better reporting

Relias is very easy to navigate and fairly simple to teach others to navigate... even for those with less computer experience.

Relias is used across our entire organization for training purposes. Onboarding, continuing education, skill-specific training, meetings, presentations, and development. It gives our employees one place to access all the training they need to complete.

Pros

Lots of course offerings.
Constantly adding and updating courses in the system.
Partnership with Teepa Snow is very important to us.

Cons

Reporting is abominable, hasn't been updated in over 4 years.
Organization of courses, modules, training plans, skills checklists, manuals, and tests— a lot of options and very challenging to differentiate
Their mobile application is not user-friendly, it crashes, doesn't load certain courses, doesn't play audio on other ones, and has very poor performance.

Likelihood to Recommend

For companies that need a training platform with a vast catalog of courses and checklists, and those who don't want to customize their own courses, Relias is great. It's a little bit clunky, but if you don't care about automation and reporting, then it serves its purpose. Monitoring hundreds of employees could be challenging, due to the technical problems Relias faces on a consistent basis, but for a smaller company like ours, it is a manageable amount of calls for support/technical problems.

We utilized Relias for training classes and CEUs as well. Everyone within the organization was assigned specific assignments to complete on a monthly basis. These consisted of a variety of different subjects related to everyone’s particular position.

Pros

They would send reminder emails consistently to let us know when we had courses expiring to ensure we got those completed.
The content and layout was well done. The courses we used were very informational.
We would get a notification when new courses were added.

Cons

I thought the program worked well on my end. I didn’t have any issues with the program.

I think it was a good program for healthcare professionals to get CEUs.

Our entire organization uses Relias Learning Management System (RLMS), and our usage ranges from annual requirements to as-needed/on-demand specific topics. We utilize Relias Learning Management System for remediation, compliance, and even our annual competency reviews. Each department has access to the full library of availability, but we've found there's something for everyone, from accredited clinical education to basic software tutorials.

Pros

The gamification elements are fun, and our staff enjoys decorating their crests.
The ability to personalize our reminders ensures that compliance stays top-of-mind.
User-friendly doesn't do it justice - zero training is needed on how to use the system because it's so intuitive!

Cons

The policies and procedures storage area are too hard to find - bring it to the forefront for an at-hand reference.
Offer more accredited courses for a wider variety of licensures.
Print objectives on completion certificates and, optionally, transcripts

The Relias Learning Management System is a fantastic tool for allowing flexible options to maintain compliance, even when you have a remote workforce. Its reporting features ensure that even the busiest supervisors can quickly monitor compliance so that your organization is ready for its next audit or survey. With a few minor improvements to the supervisor interface, it would also be a tremendous tool for competency and performance review management.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the Relias Learning Management System to do our annual employee training. We have also used the software to add extra coursework that we feel an employee may need to educate them about their job further. There are a ton of courses available to assign or that the employee can self assign themselves. The software is very easy to navigate through as well. I especially love how we can make up our own training and assign that to employees. I think that it is extremely important to have the flexibility to make our own training courses as we built it to be unique to our business.

We use Relias across all of our programs and teams. We use it for initial orientation for new staff, as well as annual orientation for all staff. Before we started using Relias, we used paper training modules where staff would read and initial off on the training they completed. Our overall experience using Relias over the past 5 years has been rather pleasant. This electronic system has given us the opportunity to manage our training program more effectively. The reports feature is helpful because it is easy for us to run reports to completion across our agency. The email reminders of new content as it relates to courses is extremely helpful. The email notifications about courses that are coming due or past due make it easy to get the word out to new staff and existing staff that they have modules they need to complete.
