Sitecore Digital Experience Platform (DXP) is frequently recognized for its capabilities in streamlining website creation, a point highlighted by five of 12 reviewers. The platform offers a modernized approach, particularly when integrated with technologies like Vercel, NextJS, and XM Cloud, providing boilerplate foundations that accelerate development and reduce the learning curve. Concurrently, the content authoring experience receives mixed feedback from five reviewers. While it can be intuitive and powerful once components are properly set up, initial configuration can be tricky, and the performance of the Experience Editor is noted as an area for improvement. Furthermore, the platform's customizability and flexibility are seen as both a strength and a challenge by three reviewers, offering extensive options but sometimes lacking boundaries for consistent content management. Sitecore DXP also demonstrates effectiveness in multi-site management, with two reviewers commending its ease of use for maintaining and sharing content across various sites.

Streamlined Website Creation

The latest/modernized way of setting everything up is very streamlined compared to what we have, especially with Vercel, NextJS, and XM Cloud, which use many of the XM Cloud OOTB functionalities.

Content Authoring Experience

Initially it's a little tricky to set up the content components, but once they are in place, the system does a very good job at providing an intuitive authoring experience.

Customizability and Flexibility

The ability to customize the platform is both a blessing and a curse because the possibilities for content entry are limitless, but it does sometimes not lay the boundaries that it could to keep content management in-line and consistent.

Sitecore Digital Experience Platform was built to simplify multisite management, allowing teams to oversee one or hundreds of sites globally, in addition to creating new sites, microsites, and campaign sites. How does your organization utilize this feature?

From 12 reviews | Last Published May 27, 2026

Reviewers frequently highlight Sitecore Digital Experience Platform's robust capabilities for multisite management, with 7 of 12 reviewers (58%) specifically noting its efficiency in handling numerous websites. The platform is praised for enabling organizations to centralize content for reuse across different sites and scale operations effectively, particularly when leveraging tools like Sitecore Experience Accelerator (SXA) or headless implementations. However, 3 of 12 reviewers (25%) also indicate that successful multisite management is contingent on proper strategy and development practices, noting that projects can encounter difficulties if these foundational elements are not meticulously planned. While the platform offers extensive features for managing global and multilingual sites, some organizations have found alternative approaches, such as language versioning within a single site, to be more straightforward for their specific needs, suggesting that optimal utilization requires careful consideration of organizational structure and implementation approach.

Multisite Management Efficiency

The Site Management functionality is fantastic, as shown by installing the Sitecore Experience Accelerator.

Multisite Management Challenges

However, the Sitecore dev team must adhere to the development practice outlined in training, which is that everything must be built to support multiple sites from the start.
