What is SmartBarrel?

SmartBarrel is a biometric timekeeping solution for the construction industry designed to eliminate time theft by offering an excuse-free, hardware & software solution. It aims top enabling contractors to make better decisions by providing them with accurate data from the field. SmartBarrel expedites payroll operations by offering an excuse-free clock in/clock out process, as well as a cloud-based dashboard to provide a company with real time insights & analytics including full cost coding to track productivity and estimated/actual labor hours by phase.

It is presented as ideal for medium to large contractors, and provides the following features:

Timekeeping: Using the SmartBarrel Biometric facial verification device to track when the employee clocked in/out on the job to confirm identity and allow the foreman/superintendent to cost code it to the proper phase on the job. Built with round up rules, automatic break calculator, and cost code carryover rules. SmartBarrel uses Machine Learning to confirm identities, so there is no need to upload employee pictures.

Site Safety Orientation: Upon clocking in, each employee will get an SMS to their phone to ask if they completed the site safety orientation.

Safety Incident Reporting: Upon check out, each employee will get an SMS to their phone asking if there were any incidents to report. Any incidents will automatically be stored in the daily summary report.

PPE Tracking: Track whether the employee is wearing their PPE Equipment including a hard hat, safety glasses, vest, and mask.

Daily logs: All information collected from the field is automatically synced into the daily report, including the weather and project information. Any employee can send an SMS to the phone number associated with the project to populate the work performed.

Broadcast messaging: Send a message to all employees/workers on the job to notify of any safety issues, weather warnings, alerts, egress, and job site updates.

Manpower Tracking: The SmartBarrel Biometric devices tracks all the subcontractors working on the job.

Reporting: Using the cloud-based dashboard, view all project information, including address, job status, worker info, weather, work performed and more. Run reports including employee timecard reports, cost item reporting, job labor hours report, job productivity reports and others.

COVID Thermal Scanning & Questionnaire: Check for fevers with SmartBarrel’s thermal scanning add-on and collect information with the COVID questionnaire to keep everyone safe on the job!

SmartBarrel’s hardware solution is built for the field – Rugged, LTE connected, weatherproof, solar-powered and magnetic, to turn any spot on a jobsite into a check in station.

Integrated to Procore and several ERP software solutions such as CMiC, Viewpoint, Quickbooks, Foundation, Sage and other solutions.
