NeoLoad is mainly used in our company to validate the stability of web and mobile applications in the target environment before we hand them over to end users. The best part about NeoLoad is that it can handle a mix of microservices and APIs. Before we push it to release, we can evaluate the app's performance, which certainly reduces any risks and problems that occur in production.
Pros
- With Realistic load add feature, we just dont have a fixed script in hands. We have real time variable patterns that actually help in testing production hours workload. We no more rely on unrealistic load curves infact we have trustworthy numbers to analyze application
- Good in cutting off any duplicate efforts. Neoload helps with reusuable test cases and shared authentication component which can be used among different teams.
- Able to handle different protocols like REST, SOAP for different environements.
Cons
- Slow learning curve for new team members. Engineers take one or two months to get comfortable in building test scenarios.
- Limitation in creating custom reports. Dashboards are fine but custom reporting is not supported. We end up using power BI with exported data.
- Licensing models are not clear as users. More transparent and clear models will help to plan better.
