Use Cases and Deployment Scope

UKG Workforce Central helps us support time & attendance for all of our employees around the State at many different locations. We also use it to post all of our open positions in the form of job postings and manage applicants through the interviewing process all the way to hiring. UKG Workforce Central is also our Human Resources system where we can store centrally all HR documents.

Pros

Accessible through smart phone.
Interface with indeed.com and other job boards.
Able to support many different levels of employees in different locations.

Cons

The implementation was awful.
The trainers didn't understand our industry.
The trainer was overworked, unreliable, and scattered.

Likelihood to Recommend

I feel as if UKG Workforce Central is best suited for organizations with thousands of employees not a couple of hundred. The implementation was so bad that it left us scarred for months. I do find the Community somewhat useful and the support is decent.

[Our] company uses the product for timekeeping, scheduling, and attendance across multiple properties. The product has given the business one platform and consistency in applying [our] business rules which were previously all over the board.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

UKG Workforce Central is used across our whole organization. It allows us to be able to work with our associates to publish and manage schedules, and process our daily and weekly benefits, such as associates being able to submit their own sick time and vacation requests for approval, but also allows us to enter benefits on an associate's behalf if needed.

Pros

The app is user friendly, and is accessible for any associates on their personal device
UKG Workforce [Central] makes it easy to keep up with the amount of benefit time you have remaining
It is easy to see at-a-glance on time cards if there are issues when working through payroll

Cons

The minor exceptions (late in) do not put a notification up, but still need to be addressed when processing payroll
I would like for it to default to All Home Locations, rather than a blank screen, when you go to run Genies or look at Schedule Manager

As a manager who utilizes UKG Workforce Central to do the daily and weekly payroll tasks required by Human Resources, I believe that this is well suited for us to keep track of hours for our hourly associates, and also well suited for us to keep track of benefits being paid and earned by our hourly and salary associates.

The reason behind choosing the software is it has many amazing features like tracking, scheduling and [is] easy to use. We have been using the UKG Workforce Central tool for a very long time in our organization, and I am very satisfied with its results. It is very easy to use, and it had very positive impacts on our business. Like now, we track the working hours of our employees, their performance, payroll systems. The tool just beautifully helped our business to get more organized and disciplined. The layout and functionality are clear and simple. You won't have to waste much time searching for the tools you need.

Pros

Employees can utilize the application to change shifts, claim open slots in daily shifts, or set up under directive authorization for breaks.
The UKG Workforce Central application is the only one of its kind that has the most affordable prices.
The platform is amazingly user-friendly and has efficient features like scheduling and tracking.

Cons

The UKG Workforce Central sometimes does not correctly indicate how much time was spent working or not while paused when the timekeeper is integrated into the computer application.
It takes an absurd amount of time for loading a schedule.

I recommend the software to you all as with the usage of Workforce Management it has become very easy to analyze the output of our employees. Our company has found the application to be extremely useful since we use it to log the time spent by employees and calculate payroll more accurately.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

UKG Workforce Central is used across all companies within the Group. We use a combination of the InTouch clocks and the mobile/tablet apps.

For us, UKG Workforce Central solved the problem of needing a cloud-based Time and Attendance system that is flexible and scalable, as the Group went through a period of rapid acquisitions. It also allowed us to have consistent real-time data for us to analyse work patterns and this data was key when needed to workforce planning following the COVID epidemic.

Pros

Very flexible in it's configuration
Very engaged and helpful community help page
Robust and mature product

Cons

Steep learning curve for System Admins
Can be complex due to it's flexibility
We've had some reliability issues with the InTouch scanners

Likelihood to Recommend

UKG Workforce Central is clearly a capable enterprise-level product that can scale as needed. It is well suited for complex employment arrangements like ours. We frequently have employees who work several roles within our Group of companies and Kronos is able to handle this well.

If you have simple rostering requirements, UKG Workforce Central may be overkill in this instance. It can become complex for the end-user depending on your configuration.

Well suited for companies with 50-500 employees. Even though I don’t have experience with it for more than 200 employees, it seems like it would be less appropriate for very large employers. <span style="font-size: 15px;">Great for organizations that have all different payroll types (non-exempt, exempt, contracted, full time, part-time).</span>

We are using the base system and the recruiting. It provides an employee experience we could not provide our employees in our old system. Employee self-service was a key factor in our decision-making. The payroll process is easy to use and the integration with outside vendors has been game-changing for accuracy with all of our vendors.

UKG has been a major part of our company implementing self-service in 2020. Before 2020 we were still printing pay stubs, and due to the pandemic, we were able to stop this and allow employees to access pay stubs online with notification and some training. More opportunities will be available to our employees when ready because UKG already has these capabilities installed, link address changes, and tax updates.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is being used across the entire organization for HR and payroll. We've also started using it for hiring and talent tracking. All new hires and employees are in the system whether just for their personal timekeeping, HR and payroll or as a manager over one of more of those areas, and hiring managers are in there approving new hires and starting that process as well.

Pros

Flow between HR onboarding and payroll.
Ease of use and access by employees for their own information.
Keeps payroll processing up to date for changing laws.

Cons

Timekeeping while detailed can be clunky and approval processes are somewhat limited.
Support is very hit and miss where sometimes you get an answer and a knowledgeable person and sometimes not.
Actually submitting ACA reporting to the IRS like other payroll providers do instead of requiring clients to upload it themselves directly.

Likelihood to Recommend

This product was marketed to us as a school and several schools in our area use the program. However, the implementation team we were set-up with had limited school experience and we are still working on the best way to do some of the timekeeping issues where I know that could have been handled better. That being said from a payroll and reporting side it has been great to capture so much data (at times almost too much) and have the system do automatic allocations of salaries and general ledger reports. The reporting takes some getting used to, but overall I've been able to run reports to see and track just about anything I want. Our employees also love the self service compared to our previous products where they can make W4, direct deposit and other updates on their own without having to get HR involved.

UKG Workforce Central (formerly Kronos Workforce Central) is used as the timekeeping system for the city. In addition to traditional timekeeping, we leverage it to keep track of hours related to grants, projects, or specific activities. We also interface it with Workforce Telestaff and pass through scheduling and accrual details. It is used by the entire city proper. The public safety divisions leverage Workforce Telestaff.

UKG Workforce Central (formerly Kronos Workforce Central) is a great program to help me understand workforce utilization. I can project out accruals for my team and discuss upcoming issues with staffing. I am also able to identify hours charged to projects to determine burn-down and to assist me with understanding reimbursable costs (e.g., related to COVID). It also maintains accurate login information for end-users so you can determine if a mobile punch was made and the geolocation of that punch.

We use UKG WFC in our whole organization. The business problem it solves is time tracking, data, and the payroll system to pay our employees.

Pros

Tracking of time
Flexibility on configuration

Cons

Mobile coordinates on time card audit. Yes, there is a report but it would be nice to have a right on the time card audit.
A team calendar for anyone in WFC not just those in the WFS areas. Currently, no way to tell who is off on my team when I am not part of the WFS setup.
Cost is outrageous.
