Built on recent research in data mining, the Interactive Path Flow aggregates interaction data across multiple participant sessions to visualize the customer journey, surface unexpected behaviors, and locate key moments in the customer journey.

Who Buys & Uses UserTesting

Pros

  • Recruiting diverse and specific user profiles for testing
  • Ease of use and setup for conducting studies
  • Integration of AI and advanced analysis features

Cons

  • Participant quality and screening issues (e.g., language proficiency, dishonesty)
  • AI and analytics features perceived as inaccurate or overblown for certain tests
  • User interface and navigation can be confusing for test management

Quality platform that makes recruiting and testing a breeze

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

UserTesting has allowed us to truly focus on our customers and understanding what their real needs are. Prior to UserTesting we had a lot of guessing of what was really impactful and when designing webpages, we want to ensure we have the most impact for each page and section and we were able to use our test with our exact audience that we needed to get feedback from to temperature gauge whether we were on the right path or not. It also helped us get by and from leadership for different assigned decisions that we needed to make to improve the website.

Pros

  • Getting buy in from leadership for changes on the website and budget to support it
  • Understanding our customers and develop developing a deep empathy for their needs

Cons

  • I'd like to see even more AI functionality
  • Sometimes it may not be very intuitive going from page to page to find past tests

Return on Investment

  • Saving us from building out pages and components that wouldn't resonate with our customers
  • Allow allowing us to go to market quicker and make confident decisions
  • Improving conversion rate rates by allowing us to do A/B testing
  • Preventing us from being know-it-alls and relying on actual data with qualitative or quantitative

Forget about recruitment and transcription

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

UserTesting allows me to create moderated and non-moderated usability tests quickly and easily. I don't need to worry about recruiting participants as they have a very wide range of participants available.

Pros

  • Recruitment
  • Setting up usability tests
  • Transcritpion

Cons

  • Using better AI for transcription
  • Sometimes it's buggy when setting up a test
  • It doesn't really work as a repository

Return on Investment

  • It helps make the design process much more informed
  • We are sure that all our products have been tested with real users, before finishing production
  • It saves costs for recruitment and rewards

Essential Part of my UX Stack

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

UserTesting is used both for moderated customer interviews/usability testing as well as for unmoderated testing of new digital experiences with people in UserTesting's testing network that meet our prospect profile.

Pros

  • Great for recruiting testers with a very specific profile
  • Text transcription of user feedback
  • Flags feedback with positive/negative sentiments
  • Easy to create highlight reels around a particular question, etc.
  • Summary of ratings/rankings are handy

Cons

  • Would like the ability to move a participant from one test to another. Test 2 was an exact replica of Test 1 (I needed to make a dupe bc something went wrong, can't recall exactly what it was) and it was a pain to have to manually look at both tests to compile the final answers.
  • Ability to do a comparison test within a comparison test. Once I wanted to test elements within 2 designs- 2 versions of a banner vs 2 versions of a chart. Balanced comparisons only compare 2 things, and don't let you follow up with that same group of testers to ask them to compare another thing within the winning design they first chose.
  • A year or so ago I struggled a lot with getting testers who don't have a good mastery of the English language, as a result their feedback was often not useful "I like it. It is good." I have not had this problem in at least a year. Not sure how UserTesting has been able to screen for this...if they've found a way to determine the level of articulation when a new person is signing up?
  • Stalls with getting a test completed. Sometimes it takes a very long time to get participants. UserTesting has said my screener is too specific, but if I make a dupe of the test and re-run it with fresh participants, then they come in.

Return on Investment

  • We do UserTesting prior to AB testing. Our testing success rate (CVR increased) is quite high bc the prior user testing helps us make some corrections based on user feedback.
  • UserTesting helps our team tangibly demonstrate how thorough we are with vetting out our designs. This gives the greater org confidence around what we release and less chance of having to go back and fix something.
  • UserTesting is obviously going to be an extra expense in your software stack. The only negative is that you'll need to advocate for it and get the budget for it. It's complicated to explain how the testing credits work.

UserTesting a powerful tool to get realtime feedback helps to improves the busiess of Organization

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

It is helping us with various areas to my organization, say, It helps us to prepare our product with consideration of user choices, that means, if we have prepared some prototype and then if we want some feedback then there is a way to go with UserTesting, as it provides a realtime customer feedback, It is also helping us to identify our work, that means, say, we are about to have some brand new features, but we are not sure that which one user needs first, then what simply we will do is, we will create some prototypes for all such features, and we can demonstrate to users, then they will give us ratings, and the major ratings will win there, It is helping us to identify how much happy our users are with the use of UserTesting as this allows us that we can ask for feedback our any platform weather its app or web.

Pros

  • helping us to have valuable user feedback
  • helping us to priortize the features, by allowing users to test over different prototypes, and we can choose the major rating feature
  • It is easy to use, it is not required such detailed training, smoothly one can use this and provide the ratings

Cons

  • It may be expensive to use as per budget constraints
  • Its web UI needs some improvment as specialy at participant level, it should be more concise
  • Need to better the support team in all areas

Return on Investment

  • As it helps us to priortize the features that makes our our users delighted which will result to good ROI
  • It helps us to get review of exsiting/new features timely, so if their requirement get changed over the time, we will get to know and we can implement that, which leads to our customer remains us for long time, and which in turns increase the ROI
  • As UserTesting has illustrative UI, participants loves to test the product, loves to identify the issues at prior level, we fix at immediate basis, which inturns provide good experience say issue free things to our customer, which delights our customer, makes them hally, they makes us happy in terms of getting more contract with increment of price
