I personally use UZIO as an employee and an employer. It’s easy to toggle back-and-forth between the two. the system is user-friendly for both myself and my employees. It’s easy to keep track of my time off as well as approved or deny their time off and keep track of their timesheets. We love using UZIO! Rarely running into issues with it. when we first started using it there were some glitches and hangups, but it seems that those have been worked out and I do not have any complaints as of late. It has helped my employees stay on track and has helped with accountability in staying within their hours.

I think from a benefits administration stand point Uzio does a great job. Integrations these days are important from an ease and execution standpoint. Although it does integrate with the carriers, it could be a quicker process if it integrated with our payroll system. We currently use Toast payroll, as many restaurant groups do, so that may be something to work on.

I love the upgrade from our previous system that allows me to pull accurate costs/hours analysis. With this system I can see exactly how much and how long my staff is taking at their scheduled posts, which takes some guess work out of my day. However, I do have some issues with the user interface of the site, mostly with some clunky popups that are impossible to disengage from without reloading the entire page. Very grateful for the weekly shot at how much my labor spend per week is as well.

There are some issues with user interface, which I am more than comfortable in sharing screenshots. We have an issue where most of my team does not collect PTO per their hiring status, and when hovering over the schedule the popup alerting me to the lack of PTO will stay in the way, floating uselessly while I struggle to view the page around it. We have also recently had an issue with glitches after the most recent update but have already reached out to the service team to get that remedied.
After having a horrific experience with a well known massive payroll company, we decided to give UZIO a try and it was definitely the right choice for us. We use UZIO to pay our American employees including taxes and benefits, and it has been great. The team at UZIO helped get us all set up and from there it has been a breeze to use.

After a disappointing (and expensive) experience with another HRIS provider, we were relieved to find UZIO. They are willing and able to work with us as a cannabis business. From day one, the team at UZIO has been a pleasure to work with.

We have a shift that crosses midnight and the system resets OT calculation when it becomes a new day, but in CA OT is calculated on hours worked and doesn’t split a shift at midnight for OT purposes. So far they have been unable to address this as it's not an issue in other states.
Holiday Pay has been an issue because of our policy - too many changing variables to create a process. Unfortunately, you cannot adjust holiday pay on the employee's timesheet. That would be the simplest solution but so far that hasn't happened.
Non-US Citizen beneficiary. This is not an option when electing benefits. Not a big deal unless you have employees with families abroad. We had one and we created a work around.
Everything has to be downloaded. You cannot click on an employee's pay stub (for example) and view it within UZIO. It must be downloaded to your computer. Not a big deal - just takes more time and more files to delete on your computer.

UZIO is one of the best HRIS systems I have used over my career. What sets them apart, in my opinion, is the ability to quickly fix or add things because they have actual engineers. Other HRIS systems are just duplicates of other systems that require a lengthy process to correct anything and are much more cumbersome. UZIO is use-friendly.
We currently use Uzio to run our payroll. It obviously helps us keep track of employment taxes and follow the employees' CalSavers program. It also helps us get employee W-2s out on time and correct.

It does an efficient job of running payroll. We have had a few employees complain that the correct taxes are not being withheld. Also, when we switched from Gusto to UZIO, our information wasn't transferred accurately, and we had to issue W-2C to several employees.
