Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use WordPress in a variety of ways, including blogging, standard page content, E-Commerce, and organic SEO integrations. Honestly, there's a reason WordPress is the most used platform in the world - it simply works and works very well! Any type of online business idea that we have, there's typically an easy to use WordPress solution for it. The vast majority of plugins available help us to quickly execute ideas, and its coding is also easy enough for us to custom build anything necessary.

Pros

Easy to use User Interface
Coding / Plugin Implementation is awesome
There's always a solution available for the platform
Security is easy to use and robust
Implementation with 3rd party platforms, such as Google's variety of tools
Can download and host on your own server or use their hosted servers

Cons

Security Holes - if you don't stay up to date you can expose yourself
Really have to thoroughly vet all plugins you're using
Code bloat - some plugins cause too much unnecessary code, leading to slower page load times

Likelihood to Recommend

WordPress was made for blogging, and to this day is still the king of the industry for it. It's widely adopted use around the world also provides for a multitude of solutions (from plugins to code snippets). It has a super easy to use interface, so anyone without any coding knowledge can jump right in and learn quickly. It is super adaptable to customization, too.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use WordPress for my personal consulting website. Other than LinkedIn, that is my online presence for my personal business. When creating the site, I wanted a product that would be easy for me to use once the vendor who set up the site was gone. And this is what I have, as it requires very little maintenance on my part and is regularly updated to newer versions.

Pros

Updates seamlessly
Interacts smoothly with other website software.
Has a wide range of themes available for businesses.

Cons

Better tutorials is the only thing I can think of.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think WordPress is well suited for smaller businesses and sole proprietors who don't have the knowledge or the time to learn how to program a website in Javascript or something similar. And because of how many software products are designed to work with WordPress, getting the website you are looking for is very easy.

I am a web marketing consultant specializing in websites that run on WordPress. I and my clients use WordPress to manage content, build attractive websites, and develop online communities. I have a couple clients that host their websites or use other services offered by Automattic, but most are independently hosted and use only the open-source WordPress offerings.

Pros

content management
excellent community of plugin and addon developers
easy to create custom designs to suit a particular organization

Cons

Automattic,in my opinion, the company that drives most of the WordPress core development, and its founder, have had a concerning track record of inappropriate and reactionary policies toward its competitors and the community as a whole.
“WordPress” can be challenging to learn, especially for new users, because it is not a single product. Rather, it is an ecosystem and a platform with developers and plugins from many different sources, of varying quality. It is imporatnt to have an expert help curate the software being used so that it runs smoothly and so that new users have a frame of reference for what they need to learn.
As with any open source project, development does not always follow a predictable schedule. New features may or may not be ready when expected.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would unequivocally recommend WordPress for anyone building a website. It is an incredibly powerful and flexible platform that can do virtually anything a website might need, by way of its array of plugins and add-on services available from various developers.

However, if someone is looking for a set-it-and-forget-it plug and play solution, or does not want to be bothered with technical details, WordPress is not a good choice unless you have an expert to help with these details.

I use WordPress for business and personal websites. Have been using it since 2008, and for many applications. It can be adapted for many needs online, and can be a great tool for a business. However, if managing it yourself it can be a headache when plug-ins and themes conflict with each other.

Pros

Blogging
Quick store with plugins and themes
Easily adapts to simple or complex projects

Cons

Having a better common source for plugins and themes to reduce conflicts would be nice
Built in SEO without a deducted plugin would be nice
Built in cache without a plug-in would be nice
Having better file organization would be great

Likelihood to Recommend

I would highly recommend this to someone wanting a robust site if they are familiar with how to debug, or have access to a dedicated programmer or WordPress professional. I would not recommend this for a laymen of self-hosting and if you don’t have access to dedicated support, as plug-in and theme conflict can break a site and make it unusable.

WordPress is the tool we use to manage our website including making changes to existing content and additional webpages for new content. This includes blog posts, events, merchandise, donations and updates about our organization. It is the only tool that we use for web curation. It helps us to communicate with audiences across the world.

WordPress is a solid tool for creating, moderating and editing website content. It is pretty straight forward and most people with some experience can alter websites with relative ease. I don't know enough for more of its complex functions but it gets the job done for what I need with basic website work.

It's used for our main e-commerce website and our order purchasing system is integrated to it through a WordPress plugin. Additionally, it integrates with our email marketing tool, online learning platform, and payment platform. WordPress is basically the most important part of our website and we use it daily to offer medical coding classes.

WordPress is an excellent option for medium-sized businesses who have the budget for some development help. It's one of the go-to providers for websites and the plugin library is vast. It may not be ideal for startups or smaller businesses who are trying to do it by themselves without any development expertise. It also may not be ideal for larger businesses with bigger marketing budgets, as there are other tools that provide sleeker, more updated websites with advanced features.

We use WordPress as the CMS for our two main marketing sites as it offers standardised integrations, content management, and user management that both our internal team and external talent find it familiar to work on.
We do not have a complex or ecommerce use case so WordPress has proven sufficient for our requirements.

WordPress is well suited if your offering, web design and branding are well-established. It is very reliable and fairly straightforward to update websites as your business grows.
It is less appropriate if your business is likely to go through significant changes in branding, positioning, or product catalogue. This will require significant input from a developer who can write the necessary code to update pages as required.

I have two WordPress websites, and I love the platform. I pay to host my website with an upgraded plan, but even when I was using the free version, I appreciated the functionality and usability of the editing software. There are thousands of templates to select from, and switching between templates is not too difficult. I reached out to customer service multiple times with issues or questions, and I always have received great responses and assistance in managing my websites. I recommend WordPress for folks who don't have a budget to pay a website designer. I plan to continue using WordPress for years to come.

Easy to use
Good basic tools
Can't beat the cost for the baseline options (free)

Cons

Security and SEO are a little outdated
Falling behind in terms of deliverability options
Chaos within company management is worrying
