Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have over 1,000 Zoom Rooms in our organization ranging from huddle spaces to large townhall forums. Zoom Rooms allow us to maintain our hybrid environment while keeping our video users engaged as if they were face to face which is very important for the financial services sector. They allow us the flexibility to join Zoom or other video conferencing platforms with a simple to use and understand interface. Zoom Rooms are an integral part of meetings and customer engagement that continues to grow here at Raymond James.

Pros

  • Uses very little bandwidth for video conferencing.
  • Simple interface for users of varying technical expertise to use.
  • Agnostic meeting use with the touch of a button.
  • AI summaries allow for natural meetings without distractions from hand note taking.

Cons

  • Higher resolution support for video boxes when there are a lot of participants.
  • More individual streams allowed so you can get more users into their own box when using tabletop center cameras.

Return on Investment

  • Our Zoom Rooms hardware always lasts longer than our amortization standards.
  • Townhalls are a huge return, these would be dial in bridges without Zoom providing the video engagement.
  • In todays hybrid environment, without a Zoom Room, you're left to wonder if participants are paying attention, Zoom Rooms solve that issue.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have multiple use cases for Zoom Rooms. We have nearly 8K Zoom Rooms, with 4K in our regional campuses and 4K in our retail branches. We are on a path to have 100% of our conference rooms have Zoom Rooms equipment to ensure our associates can effectively meet with one another. In the retail branches we have Zoom Rooms in our guidance offices which allows customers to quickly bridge in relatives, legal partners, etc into meetings with their advisors. We also utilize Zoom Rooms for standalone multi-purpose digital signage players, that associates can share their screen to.

Zoom Rooms is a core service in our organisation. As well as providing the foundation for our meeting space mangement on site, it is also used as a key component of our teaching room facilities.

We have over 125 rooms, almost all equiped with srenn/camera and scheduling panel.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Zoom Workplace as my default virtual meeting client. I purchased the Pro version as I make many virtual calls each week. The additiona,l functionality and features are worth the cost. The connections stay strong, even in hotel rooms with dodgy wifi. The UI is intuitive and on point for my needs as a host or an attender. The integration with Safari, Chrome, and other browsers requires an extension, but it works reliably. afterwards.

Pros

  • Provides an AI transcript of the call, and includes talking points, action items, and other ways to mark up the transcript.
  • Access to "Zoom Rooms' is a great tool for large groups to work virtually off-site and then report back in for feedback.
  • Zoom provides connections via phone or internet using a wide range of toll-free numbers. I have called in via my cell, and while the network support is often too weak to allow for video, the audio is great.

Cons

  • I use another tool to capture my transcripts and video of the calls. Zoom features lag behind, IMHO, other products that do this.
  • I would appreciate live translation for meetings with an international audience. Perhaps Google Translate could be connected somehow.
  • I had difficulty in locating the AI transcript option control.

  • I save travel dollars when I stay at home!
  • I can connect with colleagues and clients quickly and personally without losing the human touch.
  • The mobile app is excellent and allows me to work on the road without my laptop.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Zoom Rooms is primarily used in conference rooms. It solves the problem of unreliable and inconsistent conference room AV. The user experience is the same from room to room, floor to floor, and building to building. The hardware can be from different vendors but the interface and user experience is still the same.

Pros

  • Consistent Experience - the interface is familiar. Everyone already uses Zoom on their own devices and Zoom Rooms is an extension of that.
  • One touch join - very easy for anyone to start a meeting
  • Wireless screen sharing - no more worrying about dongles and adapters, easily share from any kind of device with one click
  • Fewer components which means there's less things that can fail or go wrong

Cons

  • Better QA between releases, especially with vendor partners, to ensure that features and capabilities that worked well before don't degrade when there are new releases.
  • Longer roadmap for hardware support, perhaps with less features and capabilities, vs. just dropping overall support. Give vendor partners options beyond the black and white.
  • Better support in medium to large rooms for "360" cameras. Up to 40 people. the larger rooms are where the immersive, hybrid experience breaks down because all of the people in the room appear as tiny dots for remote participants.
