Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting

There is a team of six people that use the product that supports our entire organization. A lot of users have access to reporting through the system. The structure allows some users to be full users and some to only read only on reports. The system captures and reports information by revenue source and program very easily, which is essential to what our non-profit needs require.
  • Separate reporting by revenue source and program group
  • Advance reporting and filtering
  • Relatively easy user interface
  • Security - by group or by user is very nice
  • Reporting can be daunting if you are not in the system a lot
  • Budgeting module could work better
  • Increased efficiency
  • Great reporting and drill down capabilities to determine the basis of costs and revenues within financial statements
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV,Sage 50 Accounting,QuickBooks Pro
MIP is the only non-profit accounting system I've used, but I've seen others in my rounds as a CPA in the auditing world. I think that MIP is a great software for small to mid-size non-profits. The customization of the reports, the general ledger setup, and the ease of use (after a while) is great for keeping track of revenues and expenses.
This program is well suited for non-profits accounting and is scale-able. The only limitation seems to be the size of the database. You can have multiple users in at the same time and the licencing structure works for us, with some users being full "power" users, and others being "reporting only" users. It empowers those individuals to retrieve information themselves.
