Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP)

It is used for all our general ledger accounting. In that respect it is robust enough to meet our needs. It is able to go from entry to financial statements without a lot of external extra manipulation. Our entire fiscal department uses it. While it is available for management, they do not use it. :(
  • Distribution codes help with complex allocations.
  • Reports that are easily formatted to address specific audiences, including multiple languages.
  • Ability to map G/L entries to the 990 format.
  • Ability to import large CSV files - avoids massive data entry workloads.
  • Reporting formats don't have easy previews - have to save format, go to report, and run to see preview. Some programs give a sneak peek on what it will look like.
  • Adding modules becomes cost prohibitive when the module would increase use and users (licensing costs).
  • I inherited this system, but as a former MAS90 user I was glad to see a Sage accounting software system in place.
We have multiple programs and multiple funding sources. We also have multiple sites, many with shared aspects. MIP is able to address these with ease through their distribution codes that we heavily utilize.
Any non profit that has multiple programs or funding sources would find this software perfect for their needs in both collecting and reporting financial data. There is a robust reporting area with the ability to set up specific formatting.
