Overall Satisfaction with MIP Fund Accounting (formerly Abila MIP)

It's being used by the Accounting Department as software for all accounting needs e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant spending tracking, financial statements, etc.
  • Easy and user friendly accounts payable processing, allows you to create ACH payments and upload them directly to your banking institution
  • I think MIP's weak point is a lack of training options/specialists; I participated in several [training courses] and there was never enough time to go over all the material given at training or to do practice exercises. You leave unsatisfied that you haven't learned everything that was promised.
  • I was using MIP Fund on premises from the start and we haven't transitioned to the cloud version as of yet.
I believe MIP is very helpful with distinguishing spending related to different grants. There are plenty of filtering options to analyze direct expenses related to the grants and a good allocation module for indirect expenses.
It's well suited for nonprofit organizations, easy to do reports, and helps with grant spend tracking. Accounts payable and receivable modules are the ones I use frequently and I think they are very user friendly. There are a lot of topics for self-education in the help section. The conference is a good source for training and networking with other professionals that are using MIP.
