Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting
Nonprofit fund accounting for our entire organization. Budget reporting and finance reports are the main functions.
- We like the ability to drill into a financial report for the detail
- Exporting and importing from Excel are easy.
- Budget reporting for all of our departments and locations is easy.
- Transition from a previous version of MIP was easy and efficient. We hit the ground running with excellent local support from our representative.
- Data entry could be improved by adding the ability to insert a line into an entry.
- We feel like we are on our own after the initial setup. Questions and/or help always translate into more expense for us so we tend to just work around issues rather than asking for assitance from support or our local rep.
- I wish the entry screens worked more like spreadsheets. Highlighting a group of figures for a total and/or average would be extremely helpful.
- Our accounting & reporting has been the same for the last 25 years. We upgraded to the MIP because we were using an outdated version of MIP. The process was expensive but has had some improvement in the reporting process. Not sure how I would rate the ROI. You have to keep up so you upgrade what you have to.
We do manage multiple funds from multiple sources but at the most basic of levels. We have not needed to do more than we had before. I am still trying to balance the funds from our old MIP system to the new.
Schneider Downs & Co., Inc. - Schneider Downs has been a long time friend to our organization and supports us well. Our representative worked tirelessly to get our transition data in order for a smooth upgrade and has been readily available for continued technical general ledger assistance. As a former independant auditor of our organization, they have a particulary good sense of how our accounting practices and requirements need to be addressed. We couldn't have asked for a better partner for this project.
