Overall Satisfaction with Abila MIP Fund Accounting

We use MIP across our entire agency. It helps us manage our budgets, financials, AP entry, AR management, payroll, time cards. We manage our grants expenditures and revenue in MIP. We use the web-based version now. We use the PO processing function with the e-req system and liquidate our PO for invoices.
  • AP entry - helps manage and prevent double entry and is very easy to review entries for payment.
  • E-req ability - very easy to track; we have not recorded invoices when compared to POs outstanding.
  • Payroll processing - very easy and direct to manage paychecks and direct deposits.
  • Reporting financials for budget review. We have not found a clean way to double check the budget entry.
  • Cloud based software loses connection and deletes settings a couple times a week.
  • Printing functions for cloud based will sometimes pop in printers from different companies.
  • The cloud based software I would say cost us more in IT support and wasted time for employees.
We are able to manage over 25 funds at once. This makes API entry and AR very easy. We are able to report on and budget for the multiple grants and rev src we have in a year.
Management liked MIP online better because it helped manage multiple funds at once.
We use the cloud-based [version] and I find that the having the ability to print to a printer that belongs to another company could be dangerous.
