Overall Satisfaction with Absorb LMS

We are using it to onboard engineers according to how we work.

Pros

  • Online classes
  • Lots of features such as certificates, attendance etc....
  • Beginning to bring in AI to make it easier for people to navigate around the tool

Cons

  • It is really hard to find what you are looking for in the tool -- it needs to be more intuitive and natural to use
  • Accessibility features are lacking, such as the ability to turn off moving objects on the screen
  • Instructions on how to use a system should be secondary to designing systems that don't require users to think very hard to do what they want to do
  • It really makes it more formal/official when training is ran through a dedicated platform like Absorb
  • The ability to create online courses makes it more economical and sustainable to us in the long run -- build the content once and people can learn from it when they have availability
I think usability can really improve a lot. As I said before, "don't make me think" should be how the system is designed. It needs to be more intuitive and less focused on reading guides with lots of bold text. For a learning management system, they do not seem to be great in understanding how to make things easy for people.

For example, in the Admin panel there are a bunch of dials on the left, but additional admin functionality when I click my account button in the upper right. In there I see things like "portal settings", "client settings", "manager experience", etc.... Why are those things here? Why is it so hard for me to find what I am looking for? The user experience really needs to be uplifted by a good designer.

Support seems to be okay, but they would need less support if certain things were designed better.

We're starting to enjoy the benefits on online courses which make it easy for users to get the education they need when they need it and at their convenience.

Previously we were using only instructor led courses.
