Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC

My use for Adobe Acrobat DC is to share CAD documents with others in a format that anyone can view. It's great for emailing drawings. Occasionally I use it to mark up a sheet or to combine multiple .pdf pages into a single document. The truth is that what I do with it only uses a fraction of Adobe Acrobat DC features but it works great for what I use it for. There are now many .pdf document editors available but nothing beats the integration and ease of use with Office and most CAD software.

Pros

  • Publishing complex drawings in an easy to share format without a large file size.
  • Being able to combine multiple .pdf sheets into a single document
  • Editing existing .pdf documents when needed
  • Seamless MS Office integration

Cons

  • If you don't use it everyday you have to hunt through the menus for some features
  • Would love to have a way to sharpen fuzzy text or images.
  • The subscription plan has a good price but wouldn't mind having a perpetual license option as well.
  • secure document transmittal
  • Adobe reliability
  • ease of use
  • Security of design information when sharing drawings
  • smaller file sizes for transmittal
  • Compatibility; All of my recipients have some form of .pdf viewer to read the files sent.
Very easy to use once you figure out how to do what you need. Search the help files and the internet to learn how to find and use the features that you need in your line of work. Sometimes you have to dig a little to get the answers but they are there.
I tried to find the other .pdf software that I've used in the past but it was not all in the drop-down menu for selection (i.e. CutePDF writer). They've all been reasonably competent at creating and editing .pdf documents but Adobe is still the top dog in features and security.

Do you think Adobe Acrobat delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Adobe Acrobat's feature set?

Yes

Did Adobe Acrobat live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Adobe Acrobat go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Adobe Acrobat again?

Yes

I recommend it in any scenario that requires transmitting documents securely, especially things requiring an approval signature. Works great for approval drawings, bills of materials & contracts. Great for sharing drawings without giving away too much design information.
