Overall Satisfaction with Adobe Acrobat DC
Acrobat is the go-to program for pdfs. We have a great many designers and web content creators that rely on Acrobat daily. The main thing that Acrobat addresses is it's universal and ubiquitous, we can deploy it and not have to worry about PDFs appearing differently for different users.
Pros
- Open any PDF
- It's consistent
- I don't have to worry about it being out of date
Cons
- It's a bit large.
- It's could use less resources, but really it's not bad.
- Ease of deployment.
- Consistency across devices/platforms
- Cost
- Low-cost or free versions have a great ROI. Anyone can download the basic reader for nothing.
- Time saved is great ROI v. just the time it took to deploy.
We have not had any issues with Adobe security whether in practice or brought up during an audit. Adobe responds in a timely manner to anything that has come up in the larger sense. I'm not worried about Adobe particularly.
- Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom)
We have tried Foxit reader as well. The UI is not as good as Acrobat, I base this on feedback from users. People like the familiarity and ease of finding the right options that Adobe offers. Foxit isn't a bad program, but the menu system can be a bit too much like MS's more interesting office choices.
