Overall Satisfaction with Adobe InDesign
We use Adobe InDesign primarily in the Marketing Department to create marketing collateral, sell sheets, event flyers, stickers, price books, catalogs, and other printed material that we publish directly to customers and distribute internally to our sales team. Adobe InDesign is a great solution for keeping our customers and sales force educated and informed about our products, pricing, and events.
- InDesign is the most flexible and capable document layout software I have used. Any size layout is possible.
- InDesign's table functionality is particularly useful.
- InDesign is an advanced piece of software and it can take awhile to learn how to use.
- Some menu items are very hidden and it can be hard to access certain functionality.
- InDesign allows us to do things in-house at a lower cost than outsourcing document creation to others.
- Being on a CreativeCloud plan from Adobe keeps our software up-to-date without a large up-front price tag.
Canva is a web-based design tool that allows you to use a large library of templates for everything from social media images, presentations, flyers, and business cards. It is very user friendly for beginners or simple projects. InDesign can do all that Canva can do and much more, but Canva is a great solution for a quick image focused content piece. InDesign is much more capable when it comes to working with larger amounts of text, complex documents, word processing, and being able to store files locally instead of the cloud.
