Overall Satisfaction with AlphaSense

We use it for market research and competitive intelligence. It's a good source for quickly pulling pulling equity analyst reports as well as company disclosures and press reports. This provides insight into what key players in the markets of interest to us are doing and what the perceived rationale is

Pros

  • Large library of analyst reports from top banks
  • Easy to navigate and search for information
  • AI generated summaries of recent earnings calls and events are helpful
  • Good customer support

Cons

  • No financial databases to pull data
  • GenAI summaries are still a little buggy - don't always summarize well with the proper context
  • Keeps my team informed of relevant industry developments
It's fairly intuitive to use and doesn't require a much training. I preferred the older search interface over the new one, but it's serviceable. There are features which I don't use, so I don't claim to be an expert on all of its applications
In general, it's been very useful for pulling information on topics of interest. I don't use it as much to identify when these events happen; more just to understand them once they do occur. Also, the addition of the expert interview transcripts has been helpful. Just getting a summary of recent transcripts allows me to see what people are talking about.
AlphaSense is largely complementary to CapIQ or Eikon. CapIQ and Eikon do offer research capabliities for an additional fee, though it's currently more cost effective to use AlphaSense. PitchBook is still a must have if you need to evaluate start-ups/private companies

Do you think AlphaSense delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with AlphaSense's feature set?

Yes

Did AlphaSense live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of AlphaSense go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy AlphaSense again?

Yes

AlphaSense is well suited for the following: Market research, competitive intelligence, sourcing inputs and assumptions for models, tracking industry events.

It isn't as well suited for accessing large data sets of financial information. If you're looking for a summary of consensus analyst forecasts, I don't think it has that either
