Amazon RDS - It Just Works.
Overall Satisfaction with Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS)
Amazon RDS is our default go-to when a cloud service needs a "simple" relational database. It powers a product that has some data to store, nothing too esoteric as database schemas go...
Pros
- It Just Works.
- Appearing as Postgres as an option helps comply with basic SQL needs.
- It provisions quickly and has good performance.
Cons
- Perhaps expanding for additional types of databases will be helpful for future growth - columnar, vector, etc.
- As expected, its cost is very minor compared to the EC2 instance cost.
