Overall Satisfaction with Anaplan

We are the implementer of Anaplan, and we have implemented Anaplan for over 100 use cases for various customers. The scope including Financial Planning (with workforce planning), budgeting planning, sales planning and supply planning. Usually we start from a smaller scope, and the expand to other use cases. The fact that Anaplan is a ligh weight and flexble planning tool makes it suitable for connected planning scenario, and its patented technology enable it for real-time and multi-dimension what-if analysis and scenario planning.

  • Cost is high compared with other competitors
  • Customer support can be more professional
  • High ROI if the scale is large
  • Not very easy to justify if we start from very small
  • Long term is good for ROI as it's cloud based
As a planning tool, Anaplan is the best tool I have ever used. Based on our experience, for financial planning with workforce, budgeting and forecast, supply planning, sales planning, Anaplan would satify most of the requirement. Especially for the what-if analysis, its light weight, collaborative, codeless configuration and flexible platform would enable users to adopt to this new digitalize planning. One point i am taking away is due to the limitation of BI and cost. But It's reasonable due to the fact that it is a planning tool but not a BI tool.
Easy of use is Anaplan's main advantage. As Anaplan is code-less configuration, and the logic for model building is by far the simplest, it would make the learning curve less steep. This is very important when we are showing our clients that, their complicated planning scenario can be built from scratch during a face-to-face session, and the logic is clearly configured and can be demonstrated. It could make the client believe in the product more and be very confident on the adoption rate.

It is very easy to use, and very easy to adopt to different planning, suitable for collaborative environment. This is very important for financial planning scenario, where ease of use is important. As the key of our project success metric is adoption rate, Anaplan is by far the easiest planning tool to be adopted in a large enterprise.
