Overall Satisfaction with APS OnLine

Today was our first payday with APS Online. We are using it for payroll, timekeeping and HR throughout the entire organization. The use of the timekeeping module has eliminated the need for manual time sheets and streamlined the whole process for payroll. The HR module will reduce the amount of redundancy and use of various spreadsheets currently used to gather and store information.
  • The customer service with APS has been exceptional.
  • The transition from another payroll provider to APS Online was seamless.
  • The actual processing of the payroll was easy.
  • A suggestion would be within the payroll module - it does not automatically calculate the hourly rate for a salaried employee. The calculation must be done manually and entered into the system.
  • The change to APS Online will decrease the time spent preparing and processing payroll. The most important improvement will be the integration with the payroll and HR modules - this will save a tremendous amount of redundant work.
We were previously with ADP and while the functionality improved when we moved to the Workforce Now version, we still wanted an improved and more economical solution for integrating payroll and HR with benefits management. APS Online offers that.
We are brand new to APS Online but so far I haven't found any scenarios that we haven't been able to figure out with our account manager.

Using APS OnLine

2 - Accounting uses APS Online for processing payroll including a time management package. HR will use APS Online for on-boarding, benefits management and evaluation management. We haven't begun using the HR side yet, but have confidence it will work as well as the payroll.
2 - You would need a basic knowledge of payroll and HR.
  • Streamlining the payroll, timekeeping and HR functions.
  • Reduce the amount of redundant work by having an actual HR module.
  • Improve our on-boarding process by making it mainly electronic.
  • APS Online will be a tremendous help to us with ACA reporting.
  • Notifications on upcoming items that need attention.
  • Keeping track of company assets that are in the possession of our associates.
We just moved to APS Online and are happy so far.

Evaluating APS OnLine and Competitors

Yes - We previously used ADP for payroll processing. We replaced them for better functionality and better value.

We wanted personal service from a company that offered a reasonably priced payroll program that integrated with an HR module.
I would have evaluated a greater number of companies that are similar to the one I chose.

It was a fairly painless process.
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled - Get informed/trained and have your company guidelines outlined prior to implementing the changes.

  • Loading the time from the timekeeping module to payroll is just the one click.
  • Payroll taxes are handled completely by APS.
  • We are still learning the "request time off" function, but it looks like it will be a time saver to our managers.
  • I'm still learning to navigate the report builder - it's not always clear what I need to pull to get what I need.
