Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Arena [PLM and QMS] as our document management system and as a place to store our Bill of materials, supplier information, sourcing information, etc. We also use Arena [PLM and QMS] for our nonconformance and CAPA system. It does a wonderful job [of managing] the change orders that are implemented in the system every day and allows for flexibility when it comes to updating the process flows.

I have prior experience using Arena [PLM and QMS] and I was always impressed by the ease of use of the system. This was a major reason for choosing [...] Arena [PLM and QMS]. In addition to the ease of use, there are a lot of features that allow for an easy execution of the quality system.

Arena Implementation

I have had a mixed bag of feelings when it comes to the implementation. In one company, it was easy and another as difficult. It is dependent on the project managers that you receive for the implementation. As always, validation of the system was a hassle. There was a lot of back and forth before we got the final product.

SAP Process Control

I have used SAP in my previous companies, and while it was a good ERP system, it was not [a] very good document management or quality management system. Arena [PLM and QMS] offers more flexibility to host documents and to perform change management. Arena [PLM and QMS] also provides avenues for CAPA and NCMR management which the other product did not.

Likelihood to Recommend

It is very useful as a PLM system to host our supplier and part info. It does a very good job of maintaining our Bill of materials for each product line. When it comes to change order management, it makes it very easy to execute it as its streamlines and allows for simple changes in the process flows.
