JIRA has been used to integrate the AGILE/ SCRUM practice of the product we are developing. We create stories and divide the stories into sub tasks. Then each time member can pick up the sub task and complete that by end of the iteration.

I think as of now, it is in sync with the mythology and the methods we used for the product development. We could connect JIRA with other Atlassian similar products such as Stash, Fisheye, Jenkins and more. Overall, it creates a great ecosystem to support and fasten the product development.
It is very well suited in agile methodology. Also, it is very helpful in onshore and offshore development. The various teams just as BA, SQE, UI Developers, Backend developer and the product manager can share, collaborate and develop the product. It is very helpful in tracking and filtering the issues within multiple teams and departments.
