Overall Satisfaction with Atlassian Jira

We use Jira for all our digital products to house past, present, and future work. Jira solves the collaboration problem for us specifically around multiple teams with contributors spread across many projects. The sheer amount of customisability within Jira has allowed us define it works in our process, not Jira defining our process. Additionally, the plugin options allow us to keep Jira the central location for test cases, road mapping, planning, and more.

Pros

  • Customisations specific to projects
  • World class searching capabilities
  • Integrations into other solutions within the Atlassian ecosystem

Cons

  • I'd like to see a reinvigorated interface
  • Navigation between pages from the left panel can be clunky at times
  • Reporting could do with some enhancements
  • Jira has centralised the management of all work which has greatly reduced fragmented processes and information silos
  • Jira has introduced a degree of complexity around managing work but the benefits outweigh the additional admin.
  • Jira has enabled us to manage work from beginning to end without leaving the Atlassian ecosystem
Overall, Jira is a well-rounded solution that works exceptionally well for teams building and managing solutions. Will all the customisations and features, there is something for every requirement.

Jira is well suited for large teams working across multiple projects or require collaboration with other departments and vendors. For small teams and businesses, Jira is not so suited as it may not be budget friendly.
