Overall Satisfaction with Automox

We use Automox for automated patch management of our servers and our workstations. We have also started using it to push software.
  • Software Distribution
  • Patch Management
  • Software Reporting
  • Constant Reboots or the scanning is inaccurate
  • I want to be able to assign a device to multiple groups
  • Positive for sure - Less expensive than other patch managers
  • Remote staff means we HAVE to have a cloud based solution and this one works
  • It does save a lot of time when you need a software push
We were able to get patches out and managed properly to remote staff. We have have users in all corners of the World and this was the best way to push things out to them while maintaining control of what goes where and when. The software distribution piece just added functionality that was otherwise very cumbersome to do manually
It is very easy to use. The package deployment is straight forward if you have even a little PowerShell knowledge. The reporting is very easy to use. The community behind it is great for asking questions, downloading working commands, and the support in general is very responsive.
The cost was the biggest factor. SCSM was a great product but it offered way too many features we didn't need. Automox was affordable and offered just the right amount features to cover our needs without being too difficult to manage. We also didn't need the full suite from Microsoft to manage endpoints with AntiVirus and the other add ons they tout.

Do you think Automox delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Automox's feature set?

Yes

Did Automox live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Automox go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Automox again?

Yes

It is perfectly suited for organizations with a small IT staff and large amount of devices. It's also perfect for pushing software to machines that are not on the network or VPN. It's less effective for server patch management. I like to have a little more control of my server patching.
