Overall Satisfaction with AWS Cloud9

We use AWS to deployment and allow data from our projects, it helps to reduce the local data in our computers. We use AWS Cloud9 as our primary browser-based IDE to eliminate 'works on my machine' bugs. It solves configuration drift and slow developer onboarding. The scope includes real-time pair programming, serverless application debugging, and secure remote access. This centralizes our codebase, ensuring security and productivity across distributed engineering teams.

Pros

  • Compilation
  • Data Center
  • Debugging
  • Cloud Computing

Cons

  • Interface
  • UX
  • Time Response
  • Less invertions
  • More productivity
  • Less dead times
I rate AWS Cloud9 a 7/10 for usability. It is seamless browser access and pre-configured terminal simplify setup for cloud-native tasks. However, the lack of offline capabilities and its legacy status compared to tools like CodeCatalyst hinder the experience. It remains functional, yet feels increasingly dated in early 2026

Do you think AWS Cloud9 delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with AWS Cloud9's feature set?

Yes

Did AWS Cloud9 live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of AWS Cloud9 go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy AWS Cloud9 again?

Yes

AWS Cloud9 is ideal for real-time pair programming and serverless development (AWS Lambda) it helps a lot of people, ensuring environmental consistency across teams. However, it is less suitable for offline coding, resource-intensive 3D rendering, or massive local builds. Since it is now legacy, modern projects should consider AWS CodeCatalyst instead.
