Overall Satisfaction with BambooHR®

central location for all info on employees. We're still setting things up to include: benefits info, bonuses, commissions, RRSP rates. Effective dates need to be more specific: First day worked vs last day paid for LOAs/RTW. I think some of the reporting is being discovered. adding more fields to specify details.

Pros

  • customizable
  • settings permissions
  • simple in organizing info

Cons

  • would like to see a link to all fields to lead towards the audit trail - who adjusted what, when, what values. instead of going to a report area.
  • notifications of changes made by other users
  • still exploring maximum use. would have to merge with forecast system
  • onboarding nicely organized
  • when the info is all there, it's a faster turnaround to produce reports
don't have a clutter of menu options. this delegates the initiative of HR to "program" BambooHR to their needs. this is still in progress.
when all the info is there, and up to date, it's a central point of retrieving the info, summarized into one file. sometimes, based on org structure, source comes from payroll first (via calculations and benefits provider monthly statements), and other times comes from HR first.
In some decisions, a higher manager needs to approve first, then payroll. I feel like "if statements" should apply because while one process might feel like having the same route, one minor detail could knock the sequence out of typical order. Sometimes, payroll needs to recommend dates based on pay periods before HR recommends a date

again, it's customizable. Ex. add a vaccination tab.
-can create reports the way you like -mass uploads of info and mass changes instead of going one by one
-still exploring mass exports and then to be imported into the payroll platform
-mass uploads are specific to the format of the field
- ex. bonus amount. If it is set to a number format in BambooHR (##.##), but you format the csv with $ (dollar sign at the front), all other columns will upload into BambooHR, but not the value. But in that case, the entire upload should be rejected and you should be prompted to make the correction.
