Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT
In our organization, we use Blackbaud FENXT as our financial accounting software. Within this online cloud software we are able to work remotely, utilizing Expense Management workflows within the system. We have utilized the Credit Card feed feature and love the robust AP capabilities of the software (ACH payment options built-in, robust reporting features, multiple contact and great tracking and budgeting features). We also love the accounting and financial reporting features of this product. Blackbaud endeavors to update the system to with new features and improvements regularly and they are always available via chat, phone or email to help troubleshoot (an option if you cannot find help within their wonderful UserGuide or Blackbaud University Classes, on demand or live)! I truly appreciate a the wonderful software which is truly geared towards non-profit organizations. A double giant thumbs up from me with regards to Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT!
- Robust Accounts Payable features and customization
- Built in Expense Management (expense approval) workflows also fully customizable
- Credit card feed capabilities
- Takes some time to set-up for an organization and there is a learning curve
- Features & updates are constant due to the online cloud nature. An option to update certain features on demand would be nice or an option to delay.
- Certain credit card bank feeds are not currently compatible
- Changes in record accuracy is great! Great audit trails available.
- Import record and invoice feature is great!
- Expense Management (approvals) can be done remotely and seamlessly with great audit trails.
The fully customizable user security features are available and robust within Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT. You have the ability to permit auditors or outside consultants access to certain modules or the entire system with the ability to tweak each user's access on an individual basis (whilst also using standard templates). This is wonderful during annual audits or when using outside consultants for certain tasks.
The dashboards within Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT are available to utilitze graphs and charts to demonstrate the financial health and goals of the organization and are fully customizable. There is set-up time needed and after a class or two, users should be able to utilize this feature with minimal issues.
Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT is clearly designed for the non-profit industry organizations, and it shows! The features would not necessarily be a great asset to some for-profit businesses given the design and focus on grant/fund reporting, but for non-profits it hits the "ball out of the park" so to speak! It clearly shows the product is engineered by people who are experiences and passionate about philanthropy and giving!
