Overall Satisfaction with Blackbaud Grantmaking (formerly GIFTS Online)

We are currently using Blackbaud to manage all of our online grant applications and to provide reporting information for accounting as well as program staff.

The system has provided access both for staff and grantees, better management, the ability to pull data from the grants using classifications and drop down menus. The Improvement is so significant it would be difficult to list how transferring to an online Grant Management System has benefited our organization.

  • Allows as many applications as needed for multiple types of Grants including single stage and allowing for a letter of interest followed up by a second stage application.
  • Allows all corresponds to be maintained in one location within the grant application
  • Provides access to contact information, payment information, refunds, etc.
  • Modules allow for as many specialized fields as needed.
  • Internal and external reviews allow grant review without additional licenses.
  • While comprehensive application creation can be difficult and confusing
  • Cost can be high with additional modules
  • I highly recommend new users complete the online training courses available on Blackbaud before creating applications, reports, and templates for correspondence.

We have been using Blackbaud Grantmaking since we started our online grant application process. Others nearby were using Blackbaud Grantmaking at the time. It seemed very versatile allowing us to manage a variety of types and sizes of grants.

I would have say that we achieved those goals. Originally we were using paper applications which not only took up a great deal of space but were quite cumbersome to manage.
Initially our grant process was a paper process with multiple grant application types and Blackbaud Grantmaking allowed us to input the paper version of the application into an online system as well as create online applications for ease-of-use for grantees and allowed us to track categories providing the statistical information.

  • Allows access by all staff either through a license or using the online reviewer connect.
As I have said it is extremely versatile. However it can also be confusing. There is always room for improvement. Blackbaud provides extensive online training, good response time from the help desk, a method of recommending enhancements as well as interaction with other users and enhancements are scored by users to determine the importance of enhancements to users.
Allows multiple ways of accomplishing a task, such as creating grants. Documents can be uploaded to applications allowing a history of what transpired.

When it was microwaves they were a lot more Hands-On assistance, but since merging they have better tracking of the issues.

Not Sure - Have a client care package I'm sure what the cost is for that. The team at blackbaud is very responsive 2 my request for assistance and I have access online to track the various issues. Mic and Rhoda are my favorite technicians and are always helpful whenever I contact them.
Yes - Through The Years there have been various bugs that we have had to resolve and most of the time those issues were resolved in a timely manner or we determined a workaround.
I think there are so many times it's impossible to list them all. I have been with them since 2010 and we have built our online Grant management system from the ground up.
