Overall Satisfaction with BMC AMI Ops
I am a DB2 DBA and currently using the BMC products to support my DB2 functions. Currently working on loading the DB2 performance statistics. I also use the Mainview monitor to see DB2 thread activity. In some scales, I have used it to cancel threads
Pros
- DB2 redirected recovery to recover databases in different DB2 environments
- Extracting HDDL for an entire database before it was decommissioned, to keep in case of recovery required
- Looking a zparms to validate changes
Cons
- I wish there was some more help for new users
- Using the BMC products helps me understand and address my DB2 questions
BMC AMI Ops has definitely improved things; I have everything I need at my fingertips to do my job efficiently.

The UI monitoring is what I needed, and it is much betterthan the Omegamon products we were using before
