Overall Satisfaction with Bonterra EveryAction

I am the administrator of Bonterra EveryAction and have had a lot of issues with the platform as new users. Help desk has not been helpful at all nor has the sales department who I reached out to try to seek support from.

Pros

  • As a new user of 2-3 months using Bonterra I like ther Targeted Emails
  • Forms

Cons

  • Although Targeted Emails features is nice, I faced a lot of challenges with the formatting and editing text as a new user.
  • With forms, it would be great to have options to create as signing-up (categories are editable instead of set)
  • We are still learning how to use the entire platform and haven't been able to explore all features.
  • The features that we've used are forms and targeted emails on a monthly basis. We would like to eventually use contacts and activists codes to do 1:1; volunteer and donor base tracking as well. Those were our intentions.
  • And eventually if we learn how to use this platform more effectively, we'd like to use the "call to action" features and make use of this platform, if we find it useful and user friendly which has not been the case for everyone including myself.
The implementation process of creating users and sending in our domain as we were told by our trainer, Dylan was later discovered to be misinformation which backed up our newsletter being sent out on time in May 2025. This led to a line of frustration because we also ended up finalizing our rebranding in June which meant we needed to update our domain in order to send out emails from our new domain successfully. At this point we had some internal staff transitions and it continued to delay our newsletter to be sent out on time, therefore for 2 months back to back we were delayed in back and forth communication sharing my frustration and helpdesk's lack of assistance to users as a provider, which has led to my negative reviews and feedback of this platform.
The return time of responses ranged and were very inconsistent. It ranged from 2 business days to weeks of not hearing back from help desk. Ridiculous. Which delayed our work, morale and productivity of myself and my team.
As stated, our org hasn't gotten that far into using the advocacy and fundraising features, nor have we gotten to digital organizing which is another feature we'd like to rise to. Therefore, I don't have any feedback that would be helpful here.
I liked Action Network in that it was very user friendly. However, it didn't have the magnitude of features that EveryAction provides. But I appreciated the level of basic knowledge needed to use this to its extent of services. I kind of miss how easy it was to navigate and create when writing a newsletter. EveryAction has the special features that I need to update such as the domain.

I used to like it as a user of cutting turf however, everything else on the technical side is much too difficult to navigate AND helpdesk needs to also be better with providing technical support to users (otherwise, Bonterra as a corporation is only making money off of small organizations such as ours who do not have the capacity and/or resources to provide our staff and as a user successful ways to use this platform. Help desk makes me feel inept as a user because when they direct me to directions that I can easily access, why does help desk exist then? To collect a paycheck? They have been so unhelpful, they've been providing me info that already exists so if they are going to be lazy and just direct me to their set pages of directions, eliminate help desk and save money that way. Otherwise, help assist when I need help - it would make my money as a company worth paying than being redirected to pages of directions that exist that I still cannot follow successfully.
