Overall Satisfaction with BrightGauge

BrightGauge was purchased as a solution for one particular department within our organization. There was a need to have a dashboard display on a large tv within that department to show current metric. It was used to provide that dashboard as well as some other dashboards for specific managers within that department.

  • Ability to build a data model.
  • Diversity of data.
  • Ability to share dashboards.
  • Provided real time data.
  • Could login and build a dashboard with little training.
  • Cheap when used sparingly.
Usability is BrightGauge's strength. Granting the ability of virtually any user to be able to create a dashboard is incredibly valuable. If an organization very simple and straight forward reporting needs then BrightGauge is a perfect fit for them. Connecting to the dataset we used was very quick and easy and I imagine it would be the same for any major data source you would like to pull from.
BrightGauge is by far the easiest to learn/use of the BI tools I have experienced. We had managers building their own dashboards with no outside help. It is not incredibly versatile though so if you want to get much more beyond taking the data and putting it in a chart or table BrightGauge fell short there.

BrightGauge was a very good product for us. It provided just what we needed for a specific use case. It would be hard for it to scale to being an organizational BI tool unless the entire organization was one department. In the end I had to use another BI tool in order to solve the need to the entire company.

BrightGauge Support

We did not need to use BrightGauge's support for the entire time that we used it. Best support is always the one that isn't needed because nothing breaks.
