Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Camtasia is used by the marketing department to make our how-to videos, product presentations and any virtual training that our company provides. Since a lot of our videos have to be client specific, producing them in-house makes a lot more sense and proves to be much more cost-effective than hiring a 3rd party vendor.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent technical support through demo videos.
Functionality is setup very logically.
Output quality of the video is excellent and not pixelated.

Cons

Range of animations is limited.
Posting interactions such as polls, QA's is not available.
Takes time to load.

Return on Investment

No longer have to outsource video creation to vendors. Everything is done in-house now.

Likelihood to Recommend

Camtasia is a great product to produce in-house client specific how-to videos and training videos for our clients. The video quality is excellent. The fact that it can be used as both a screencast and an editing software is great. The timeline layout that allows you to see different parts of the video is a great functionality.

Interface is very clunky and it's not an advanced video editing tool.
