Overall Satisfaction with Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller

Our organization needed a corporate wireless network where it could perform authentication via Radius/NPAS, access network segmentation, and stability and reliability. Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller has provided us with such functionality in a robust and reliable way. We were already using the previous version of the solution, the Cisco 2504 controllers, so keeping the same solution, just upgrading it was the most coherent way.

  • QoS in different situations
  • The interface needs improvement, it is still complex to find some functions quickly
  • The price of the product is still a big limiter
  • The fragility of its physical structure, any impact, which is a little stronger, can cause damage to the product
  • Stability and reliability
  • Identification and mitigation of signal interference
  • Support high workloads
  • Due to the stability of the system, there is practically no incidence of serious problems that require total interruption of the environment.
  • Even with EOL, product support will still continue for a long time, ensuring peace of mind and time to work on a new solution and/or upgrade.
  • Investment in a single wireless network, segmented, without multiple devices from multiple brands.
As mentioned before, the choice to acquire the Cisco 3504 WLAN Controller was natural since our organization already used Cisco solutions and also the Cisco wireless solution. Even compared with other solutions, the proven quality that Cisco presented us motivated us to continue with the brand, considering that it is an investment that guaranteed us a return, both in safety and in TCO.
