ISR 4000 Routers are being used as branch routers, holding voice and data circuits, acting as SRST for voice support in case of a WAN outage.

  • SIP and E1 voice circuit handling.
  • Dynamic routing protocols, such as BGP using MPLS circuits.

Cons

  • E1 card requires dedicated DSP resources, previous versions didn’t.
  • Easier licencing management.
  • Wireless modules integration with WLC

Support from vendor is great, response time for replacements is very fast (depends on your support contract level).
Vendor support forums have lots of cases you can use to find solutions to your problems or projects.
Engineers are very well trained, even the partners. The support is 24/7.
