A switch with resiliency and reliability with optional 10G SFP+ port modules.
Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Catalyst Switches
- Catalyst 9200 Series
In our datacenter approximately one year ago, some Cisco 9200 switches were installed in the distribution and core and we interconnected to other access switches by fiber-optic and SFP+ connector. We create data, voice, and guest VLANs to segment the network and prevent broadcast and malicious external threats. The switch is perfect with great throughput, POE+ ports, fully CLI, and web management. Added additional 10G SFP+ port models for uplink with other access switches.
Pros
- Additional modules containing 10G SFP+ ports.
- Support QOS, VLANS, MSTP, layer 3 routing protocols.
- Silent.
- Redundant energy power supplies.
- 16,000 MAC addresses.
- Models with POE.
Cons
- It could have a lower price and similar like the 2960S and 2960X.
- Official training is expensive.
- Network upgrade.
- Improved processing performance.
- Energy saving.
The company has benefited well from Cisco's switch management and security capabilities. Stacking reduces complexity because it allows the stack to be managed with a single IP. For those of us who don't have management software, it's very optimizable.
We customize the deployment and configuration according to our network and security rules such as VLANs, ACLs, stp, and routing. Cisco CLI is one of the best and easiest to use and configure. For us, it is a huge positive differentiator.
