Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense

Cisco Email Security is being utilized across our whole organization. It's actually a second defense hop into our environment that provides another layer of defense to combat malware, spyware, etc. We also utilize it for outbound content filtering, routing rules, as well as email hygiene. It has proven to be very effective for our enterprise as the granularity was not possible on our email servers and cloud provider gateway.
  • Inbound and outbound content rules and filters.

  • Clustering capabilities.
  • Backup and restore functionality.
  • Training and certification.
  • Ability to see attachment names in reporting when exported to a file.
  • Small percent of malicious content is being allowed into the environment.
  • Fewer interruptions to the workplace.
  • Processing time is transparent to the email pipeline.
Cisco Email Security provides the first layer of defense against cyber threats and protects sensitive outbound data. It guards against spam, fraudulent senders, infected files whenever they become malicious and blocks risky URLs to prevent attacks. It also prevents data loss and secures sensitive data in transit to ensure compliance. We selected Cisco Email Security to provide another layer of safety to our email infrastructure.

It is well suited for medium and large enterprises as a first and second line of defense. A small company may be better off going with a cloud version verses the on-prem version, whether it is physical or virtual. If a proof of concept (POC) can be implemented as a test, I would recommend doing that first before making any decisions.

Cisco Security

Security plays a huge role in my organization’s goals. Cisco met those goals when evaluating their product VS a few other solutions.
We already have other Cisco devices in our Network so they were already a trusted solution and partner.
Offers great 24/7 customer support.
Was also in the top of Gartners list.
I think it will have some impact. It's still too early to tell.

Resilience and Reliability

A cyber resilient organization can realize many benefits like fewer incidents. Cyber resiliency increases an organization's cybersecurity posture and its ability to prioritize and respond to risk.
Some measures include risk assessment, security policy development, employee training, software updates, network protection, data backup and recovery, incident response planning, regular testing, vendor scrutiny and continuous improvement.
There is a 50/50 chance that we will renew. We are in the middle of moving from on-prem to the cloud so we may not need it once we are fully migrated.
The implementation went well, no issues or problems to report.
Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense's availability is great and reliable when you need it most. We haven't had any noticeable outages or issues.

Cisco Secure Email Threat Defense Support

It provides us with another layer of defense and has proven to be a great asset and return on investment. Nothing is perfect but this is definitely something to evaluate if you are in the market looking to implement a new email gateway solution or upgrade from something that you already have in place.

Yes - It took a few months for the bug to get resolved. Not ideal but I wish it was fixed a lot faster.
When an Engineer stayed on a call beyond their shift in order to resolve the issue.

It protects our files and general system emails, it's also very simple and easy to use. We all feel comfortable and protected at all times, it eliminates spam, malware and viruses that may be received in corporate email. It has simple and smart features for efficient management.
