Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR Series

This AP gave us the possibility to setup wireless networks in small offices where having physical cabling might not be the best option. This AP can provide you a lot of fancy network features that may increase UX - MIMO, 802.11ac, self provisioning, etc. Also it's good from a security point of view as it integrates with 802.1x and ISE.
In general I like the product and I think it's worth the money.
  • 4 and 5 ghz
  • 1x
  • Easy providing of internet access to guests
  • Was not able to find how to measure RF spectrum
  • L7 policies are not always working, was not able to block YouTube for some users
Cisco Meraki MR20 is cheaper than Aruba ClearPass (or at least it was cheaper for us). Also it may work as a standalone AP if you compare it with 3504 WLC.
I would give a 9 if support would resolve the issue with not having fully operational policy filters, as now I have to spend quite a lot of time troubleshooting.

Do you think Cisco Meraki MR delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Cisco Meraki MR's feature set?

Yes

Did Cisco Meraki MR live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Cisco Meraki MR go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Cisco Meraki MR again?

Yes

Meraki MR20 is good for small offices where you don't need to install expensive HW, but you may need to connect the branch to HQ and share resources; however, at the same time this product has drawbacks described at "Cons" section.
