Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MS
At some locations we use Meraki full stack, so we have a variety of switch for core and access layers. But at almost every other location we use them only to split the WAN service between 2 routers. For this we use a basic 8 port switch, which is all we need for this purpose.
Pros
- Remote tools
- Visibility of each port usage
- Configuration using templates
Cons
- Improve logging
- Implement AI to spot issues
- Reduction in people onboarding time.
- Graphical interface without need of third party tools
- You need a lot of money to implement this solution, capex and opex.
We can deploy new switches very easily. Using templates makes it really plug and play or if you have an existing network and you just add new switches it's also very simple to add it and configure it. Love the feature of copying an existing switch's configuration into a new one
Given that we combined Meraki switches with other Meraki products we can get a lot from it. It can automatically create a network topology, it detects what device is connected to each port and, specially for NOC analysts, everything is in a single dashboard. No need to jump between tools, sites or devices.
