Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki SM
We utilize Cisco Meraki SM Switches as Core Layer switches as well as Access Layer switches. The Power over Ethernet capacities paired with high switching power and versatile connectivity options make the product family a great choice as the backbone of our client access. Paired with a great Management plane in the cloud with an easy to understand User interface is the Cisco Meraki SM a great solution. The well documented API helped us a lot to implement the switches in a fast manner.
Pros
- Versatile Product choices
- Great PoE Budgets
- Powerful Software solution
Cons
- API Features could still be improved
- License model might be a bit complicated
- Ruggedized switches need more models
- Visibility improved a lot
- Integration with other Cisco solutions are non comparable with other vendor solutions
- Time to configure the devices went down rapidly by utilizing templates and tags
The Management plane in the cloud with an easy to understand User interface is the Cisco Meraki SM a great solution. A well documented API paired with a broad range of supported ways to automate things, for example you can use Ansible, Terraform, raw python scrips so on and so on. Configuring 100s of networks in just an blink of an eye is here.
Configuring different type of devices in a single dashboard is great. Pushing a whole network configuration, from Gateway to Access Switches to Wireless Access Points via a few mouse clicks is non comparable.
