Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points

Where I used to work, we had them before they were even Cisco Meraki and loved them. Where I am now, I have been there 5yrs and deployed many Meraki APs across the org and love the fact it's one single simple portal to manage all the devices without having to manage each one individually. I also have Meraki Go at home too now, love this from an home/SMB standpoint!

Pros

  • Central management
  • Ease of deployment
  • Ease of configuration

Cons

  • Wishlist functionality
  • Cost
  • Linking with Z series wifi for mesh.
  • Simplified networking
  • Integrated networks with ease
  • Single pane of glass to manage them all
We tried other cloud AP vendors over the years from UniFi, Aerohive and Aruba, but none of them have the feature set and integration with other products like Cisco Meraki APs happen to have. The fact they detect and work with so many other devices is astounding and relieving at the same time.

Would you buy Cisco Meraki MR Wireless Access Points again?

Yes

It has both indoor and outdoor situations. There is also the option to control either one at a time using networks for each branch/site, or controlling your entire AP fleet through its own network. You can also set it to authenticate with various platforms, like on prem AD, Meraki itself, Facebook etc, so there's lots of options.
