Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Nexus Series Switches
Cisco Nexus Series Switches are part of our ACI network structure. This setup was part of the major network upgrade whereby Cisco Nexus Series Switches were part of the ACI setup as leaf and spine nodes. So the deployment was done for our datacenter network upgrade, and the same use case will be done for our secondary datacenter network as well and later it will be under active active setup.
Pros
- Layer 3 Switching and routing
- Spine
- Leaf nodes as part of ACI setup
Cons
- Setup can be done in simplified manner
- Minimal use of console and CLI commands
- Management via Cloud whereby the configs can auto update once device is online
- ROI was quite expensive as we had to invest once-off
- Deployment cost for the same was expensive as well
- Due to the business case which was for datacenter upgrade it was worth as once the setup is done and dusted, engineers will just need to manage in terms of upgrades or patches
- Since it's Cisco hardware, one will not have to go back and see anything as we trust Cisco for our businesses on daily basis and deployments for any customers we do
Cisco Nexus Series Switches are known for their high performance, flexibility, and ability to support data center networks especially. I select Cisco Nexus Series Switches because of its performance, scalability, durability, security features, flexible deployment options for modern and traditional setups.
