Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Access by Duo

We use it to protect several functions. Windows logon at the terminal and RDP. I have the proxy running for our VPN tunnel. I also have it integrated into our Microsoft 365 and use SAML with other applications to leverage it in as many places as possible.

Policies could be refined a little bit. Possibly have a simple/detailed toggle. Other than that, integration and setup is fairly simple. Multiple authentication methods can me used seamlessly to adapt to your users.
Passwords are a terrible thing. I know for certain that I had many users using simple passwords and doing things like appending the year to a password to meet change requirements. Duo lets me go to bed and rest without worrying about our users passwords getting easily breached. Simple job with an elegant solution.
I would prefer to have phone support by a live native English speaking technician. They make you start with email based support. Possibly if you are a bigger customer you could get this, but I work at a fairly small school district.
The only time I ever needed support was a question about configuring the proxy for our VPN. My issue was resolved quickly via email.
Pricing and simplicity put them ahead of the other products that I evaluated other than Microsoft. Did not go with Microsoft because I couldn’t see a way to integrate it with my VPN server.

It does a simple job effectively. Also, I like that it blocks MFA spam attacks by disabling the Duo account after 10 failed attempts. I have had issues where a users credentials were compromised and they tried to spam the user with continuous MFA prompts and the 10 try rule stopped that attack.

Using Cisco Secure Access by Duo

65 - We protect all desktop logins, Microsoft 365 logins, all RDP sessions and all VPN connections.
1 - Support is very limited. The biggest things I need to do is hand out key fobs when staff forget their phone at home and remind to keep their phone up to date for security fixes from the manufacturers.

The system needed to be cloud based to support my users anywhere that they tried to log in from. Ease of use was also a very important issue. Our staff come from a variety of blue collar industries and are not hired for computer skills.
I might expand the pool of alternatives and do more testing. My implementation was rushed my the need for cyber insurance compliance.
