Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use the Cisco Secure Firewall to restrict and allow traffic into our delimited zones. We have a government requirement to not only restrict by IP but also by port. We use the Cisco Secure Firewall in conjunction with proxy servers to accomplish this.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Its good for micro segmentation of our network
It has good log information and seems methodical
We like the built in packet capture information
We use it to valide network flows and track traffic

Cons

Provide built in traffic flow maps

Return on Investment

It is an absolute requirement for us to meet government regulations

Security and Performance

They are beneficial. I think my organization would get more benefit from the product if we had more training.

We utilize it for VPN. It covers the connectivity for all of our remote working force which is roughly 30%

It generally covers most of what we need. In general we utilize a different product for all of our 443 to alternate port redirects which would be nice if it performed that. If it already does then I just am unaware of the feature.
