Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Secure Firewall
Our organization utilizes the Cisco Secure Firewall in several capacities with our enterprise network and with air gapped networks that monitor data on plant data. The firewalls are used to monitor data traffic and alert on different rules or intrusions with Snort and Splunk.
Pros
- Detects/Prevents Intrusions
- Integrates with Splunk
- Easily Configured standalone or with FMC
Cons
- Reboot times
- Time to apply updates
- Ensuring the organization is in compliance with federal regulations
The advanced security features have not had any negative impact on the business in the use cases that they are utilized.
Log management has been utilized. Logs are forwarded to a SIEM and provide all the necessary information that is required for an analyst to conduct and investigation of possible intrusion.
The Cisco Secure Firewall is more advanced and provides more visibility into possible issues across the network.
