We use our Cisco Secure Firewall for Campus Segmentation. It helps the business manage risk as directed by auditors. The scope is business wide.
Pros
- The auto-recommend and deploy IPS rules is awesome.
- The Performance can handle all of our traffic load without impact
- The AMP has saved us from ransomware.
Cons
- Code quality has not been stable on some releases and we've had to wait for a more stable version
- Can be slow at times. It can take some time to navigate around due to loading,
- It has saved us from ransomware. Very high value.
- Cost is difficult to swallow by executives. We have to go to length to justify.
They have saved us from ransomware attacks. Enough said!

WE evaluated the PA solution with the Firepower. The PA solution was ok, but it wasn't flexible enough. For example, Cisco Secure Firewall has auto-tune IPS and fast-path. PA can't do those things,
