Overall Satisfaction with Cisco Unified Computing System Manager
UCS is used to run production VMware ESXi clusters across the entire organization. It has allowed integration with Pure Storage and VMware as a validated design (FlashStack).
- Small physical dense blades in 6u of rack space
- Smaller power requirements compared to legacy equipment
- Long term support with VMware
- Still using slightly dated technology for 'phone home'
- Long term support allows to use capital costing and budget
- Flashstack certified design means any issues can be resolved by either partner in the certified design and as end users we only have 1 ticket which eases staff training and management time
- Fast 40G connectivity of flex fabric
UCS certified design with other components and partners like Pure and VMware meant that we chose this over others
