Overall Satisfaction with Citrix ShareFile

We use Citrix ShareFile for all users for our cloud data storage needs. This software allows us to store our information securely and with backups where everyone can access it. We use the sync tool, the virtual drive and the Outlook add-in for data transfer. We do not need to house the data all on our own at a physical location.

Pros

  • Support has been very good.
  • Flexible pricing.
  • Software updated often.

Cons

  • Software can close or quit all on its own sometimes.
  • The password reset can be a pain with all the "choose a picture" steps to prove you are not a robot.
  • I sometimes see issues with synchronizing long file paths and special characters.
  • We've been able to grow our data storage at the same rate as our company.
  • This software set has been very reliable.
  • Being able to recover deleted items and older versions has been a real job saver.
One of the main issues we had with other file storage software in the past has been the ability for users to accidentally delete data from the entire company account and not just their specific user access or profile. There were not enough safeguards and warning messages in place to prevent a whole lot of scrambling and hassle when forced to try to recover entire folders worth of data that should never have been able to be deleted in the first place.
Typically the support is very knowledgeable and interested in following an issue until it is fully resolved. I have not had any issues working with their staff as they are all polite and easy to communicate with. If the first or second level tech does not fix the concern then it is escalated until we get to someone who can close the case.

Citrix ShareFile fills a software niche very well. Off all the competitors, I found ShareFile to be the best fit all around for our needs of being able to synchronize files when needed and also having unlimited access to all files at other times. Since we started using this software it has only gotten better.
