Overall Satisfaction with CMiC Construction Platform

CMiC [Construction Platform] is our primary ERP platform for construction financials. It is our cost single point of data. It's used by everyone in the Company.

Pros

  • It scales well.
  • CMiC has a strong user base
  • There are many workflows available for you to choose from

Cons

  • Support has been traditionally sub par
  • The customer is not often treated like a partner
  • New releases are not tested throughly
  • It has given a us a solid platform that integrates with other systems via APIs and data connectors
  • The cost of maintaining this system is relatively high
  • It is somewhat customizable.
It has been many years since we evaluated something else. Feature wise, CMiC [Construction Platform] is robust. Smaller user base, but is a solid platform. As mentioned, their testing on new releases could be greatly improved upon. It doesn't feel as polished as some more widely used system.
Traditionally it was extremely poor. Less than average response time, and there didn't feel like an urgency. In the last 2 years it has improved a great deal however.

This is well suited for larger organizations that have sufficient internal resources to test, train and deploy. It is critical to have internal support resources and not rely on CMiC [Construction Platform] as primary support.
